As I prepare for homeschooling next year with Katie I have had concerns about her reading and "keeping up with state standards". But as I watched this video I was reminded that God made us each different. All God asks is that we trust Him and try to do our best. Sometimes we may be what I've heard called "late bloomers". As long as we do what God has for us to do, who cares how long it takes.
I hope you are inspired as I was by these famous failures!

Walt Disney Quotes
"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." Walt Disney
"Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. " Walt Disney
"There is more treasure n books than in all the pirates' loot on Treasure Island and at the bottom of the Spanish Main ... and best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life." Walt Disney
"Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource - the minds of our children." Walt Disney
"A man should never neglect his family for business." Walt Disney
"Around here ... we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things ... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." Walt Disney

Tree Climbing
He Thought of Everything
Last night during family devotions Rick read this from the Jon Courson commentary and I loved it...
"The message of the Lamb of God grows wider and becomes more encompassing as you travel through Scripture. In Genesis, as Abel brought a lamb for sacrifice we see a lamb offered for an individual. In Exodus, as each household sacrificed a lamb during Passover, we see a lamb offered for a family. In Leviticus, when the people of Israel were instructed to sacrifice a lamb, we see a lamb offered for a nation. In John, the Baptist identifies Jesus as the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world, we see a Lamb who would be offered for the world."
As we get ready to celebrate Easter (in less than 4 weeks) let us remember that Jesus saves individually, as a family, as a nation and the world. Let us praise Him because He really did think of everything!

Dairy Free
We are gearing up to potty train Elisha. But I've noticed he has a hard time digesting dairy. This wouldn't be a big deal other than the fact that for breakfast he wants yogurt, for snack he wants milk, for lunch he wants cheese, etc. You see my problem. So I just bought Soy Yogurt to try. He ate the whole thing, but with every bite he would shake his head in disgust. Hopefully he'll get used to it and be happy with the change.
While we're changing his diet we decided to go back on my FM diet and give up all corn, chicken and limit wheat. So far there hasn't been too many cries at the dinner table, but the promise of dessert can get Katie to eat almost anything! She's so her dad's child!

My Son
Today I was talking to my mom when Eli took a bath. She thought this was funny and should be shared. So, here goes...
My son is gifted. He loves to take baths. He loves to splash in his bath. He loves to splash so much that there is often water all over the floor and going up the cabinets. So far he's a normal boy, right? Well what makes my son so amazing is his hair always stays completely dry. Oh yes. His hair stays totally dry until I force him down in the water. It's a gift!
